A family treasure.
Pushed you politely if she wanted more space on the sofa.
Never got mad about anything.
Loved to run away for a wild free run in the dark of the night if the door opened and she had the "call of the night"!
And she "lived" to chase and bring back a "hand ball and blue only"! One time we gave her green and she was so disgusted and never would chase them.
Dada and Mama missing her bad..
PopPop, Grandmama, Doris and Grammy missing her bad.
Aidan and Alexei missing her bad.
And Bucky missing her sidekick also.
Made it to 14 years.
Hearts are hurting.
Pictures and memories are helping.
Oh Shilo we love you and will miss you!
Theadora Brack took this photo in Paris this week. Shhhhh! That's what the mural is called and here's what she said:"“Shhhhh” was created by Graffiti artist Jeff, aka Aerosol back in June 2011. The massive spray-painted (self-portrait!) mural is neatly tucked behind the corner of the Centre Pompidou. And it’s fabulous. Message? Stop, look and appreciate the city, according to the adorable artist. It certainly caught my eye."
Has my teacher feeble brain remembered this incorrectly???? WAAAyyyy back when computers first came into the classrooms..one in the back of the rooms...way before computer labs...
APPLE was giving computers to the schools for free!!! Yahoo! So wonderful!!!!..but wait a minute...didn't the schools have to buy the software for these wonderful free computers???? AND THEN when the newer Apples came out am I remembering it correctly that the old software that the schools had bought wouldn't work on the newer Apples? AND then didn't all the schools who had been given the older Apples have to then buy newer Apples computers to work with the newer Apple software to save money????Nice move for a business but to do it to our kids and schools..makes me even today feel sad for them. Even now 40 some years later I have felt that was deceiving. Because of this I have never bought an Apple product til last month. And only out of curiosity...an Iphone. Doesn't impress me..
But please next generation...don't mix the company Apple with God. Don't trust them. Don't put "stuff" as your idols or it will come back to bite you on your butt.
Yes, I admired Steve Jobs very much! What he made of his life coming from adoption that makes it even harder for some. I loved his strength in dealing with his cancer. I loved his commitment in his dreams and beliefs.
This Beau Sterling pin came from a Maryland estate. It definitely is not new and has been used and then stored for years without being used. It has darkening and will need cleaning if desired by its new owner. It is a little over 2 inches from end to end. Looking for a new owner to enjoy and take it out on new adventures!
If you look down below this blog entry and go back 9 entries you will see one of the 1960s Magic Brain Calculators...Well that is what it feels like going back to following Facebook in comparison to following the Google+ entries of today! So Different...so as long as Google doesn't hand out my private info I am so satisfied with following the Google+ interesting people! And adding my friends as they test Google+!
Yes! We saw our first when we were coming out of our local Burger King yesterday after church and there they were. Green station wagon packed totally in back seats to within 1 foot from the top with a dog wagging his happy tail on top of the packed stuff! In the front a man in the passenger seat with the widest smile ever! Told him his dog was cute and he said the dog was a great traveler. Asked him the big question: Are you snowbirds? He said Yep....just got in from Michigan! We had never seen one in September before...mostly October is our first sightings month! Ha! Welcome Snowbirds! We used to be one of you too! Til we just couldn't face any more snow shovelings and cold temps! We warned him to be careful he might end up not going back and he agreed!
We had a ball through our snowbirding years hitting the interesting, unusual and unexpected flea markets, yard sales and antique booths between Florida and Maryland. One of our son-in-laws was an avid Ricky Rudd fan and we found a lot of neat stuff outside of the big cities flea markets and antique stores for his favorite guy and for my favorite guy...let's see ..hmmm ..the real cute one...the Pepsi guy back then! Hey! That's him on the back cover right above here!
This book is a great addition to the library of a collector or seller of Racing Collectibles! Of course the 2001 values aren't current BUT the book has great pics, valuable info on the items. Postcards, tickets, kits, programs, knives, boxes, cards, medallions, ornaments, posters, steins, figures, statues, clocks, helmet replicas, bean bags, bottles, porcelain cars, decanters, autographs, driver & crew uniforms, magazines and replica hoods are in this book.I bought this book as a "seconds" from an online book seller and it was and is in good shape.
