Ms JENNY, JW, AND ERIC ....LIVE TO COOK! NOT COOK TO LIVE!
Ms Jenny lived to cook. She just didn't cook to live. She cooked for years in St. James Episcopal food events. The worse thing she feared was a plate emptying and having no replacements!
JW loved cooking too. He cooked for us in our later years. He cooked for the Baptist Disaster trips. He cooked for meals in our Chancellor Baptist Church years and our Glen Burnie Baptist Church years.
It was great fun during the Geriatric Pasadena Pool years to bring all the food makers and food eaters together every Sunday afternoon!
During one of these times Ms Jenny brought two of her treasured recipe books down for JW knowing he cooked for large groups mentioned above.
He loved and treasured these cookbooks.
Well, unpacking here in Virginia guess what I have found....these cookbooks!...The first is my favorite...Just skimming the pages I see recipes I want to save out of the past!
I will be posting them in this blog from time to time. Hope you enjoy them! And other recipes from my cherished Back Issue Country Woman Magazines...these are recipes sent in to the mag by readers all across the country! These two cookbooks are moving on to my son-in-law Eric who loved Ms Jenny and loves to cook. He now becomes the owner of these cherished cookbooks!

CHERYL'S COOKIES and QVC
I love QVC but am extremely angry that $51.21 was paid and I was expecting all 94 purchased cookies to be individually wrapped cookies as presented on tv. Instead I got 30 individually wrapped cookies and 4 medium bags of cookie pieces that do not in any way equate gm wise the 64 cookies that are missing. I do not feel that was presented honestly on QVC and I WILL use social media to let all know this til you send me the missing 64 cookies that I planned to use in my Christmas presents!
I always read all reviews before purchasing things online but didn't this time. Wish I had and I would not have bought these!

So What's A Paper Email???
Everyone here reading right now has those special people we love who won't take a baby step into the online world! We love them so much and at the same time they drive us crazy keeping them current with the latest pics, news and other newsworthy stuff that we pop online in seconds to our online friends!
Fellow Downsizers...Here is the way to do it!
Instead of keeping old postcards cramped up in boxes til you conk out or forget where they are. Use them on the front of note cards.
The white envelope is about 5 1/4 inches by about 7 1/4 inches. On the front of the note card is the permanently attached vintage postcard. The second pic gives you a closeup of the permanently attached postcard.
In this case on the back of the notecard on an attached label is what was on the back of the postcard:
"Wild Bill Hickok's last poker hand, which was played August 2, 1876 at Deadwood,Dakota Territory is portrayed with wax figures at Southwestern Historical Wax Museum, Grand Prairie, Texas."
Inside the note card, it is blank for you to add your very own message you want instead of the dorky ones people get paid to write for the card companies. Go creative and enjoy! AND then type YOUR message to them (or cut and paste your online messages )on your computer..print it out, cut it out and tape it inside these creations and whala! Stick that stamp on the envelope and their address and send them their very own paper emails!
At the very least you communicated with them instead of putting it off because you are so busy. At the very most you get them closer to the enjoyment of the world of electronic emails/notes and cards which are so much fun!
Aha ..think I will call them paper emails...thoughts right now ...with messages for people too special to send electronically and/or for people who haven't moved into the electronic messaging era.,,
