This blogger is Soooo ......

I ran into this blogger's writings while setting up my new Word Press blog this month. Don't miss his writings! He escaped to Maine from some other Yankee location up in the northeast and writes from there. Remember how we would look forward to a certain section of the Baltimore Sun or your favorite location's newspaper  every morning to start your day? Well his is one of mine!
To me his writings ride on the edge of giftedness and madness which I love. His topics vary from day to day which I love.
His blog today, for example, is about running outdoors unplugged vs the dangers of running indoors on the treadmill...
Set your brain's right side free and check him out:

A Lego Hat Moment

There were so many Kodak moments on this trip to Legoland! The figures made of Legos are all sizes and shapes and so creative and almost seem to be alive! I was snap...snap...snapping away the many figures, rides and models and didn't even get a chance to really enjoy them til now...and I am captured by this visitor's enjoyment of these figures!

A Durham Purple Dancing Bull!

Think Durham is a quiet college town? Ha! Check this out ...what did we run into next  on our tour of Durham, NC?

Elephants and Mourning

Got this in a forwarded email from a friend. Don't know if it is true but absolutely interesting:
THE ELEPHANTS MADE A JOURNEY TO PAY RESPECTS.

BUT HOW DID THEY KNOW?

Lawrence Anthony, a legend in South Africa and author of 3 books -- including best-seller "The Elephant Whisperer" -- had bravely rescued wildlife and had rehabilitated elephants all over the globe from human Atrocities, including the courageous rescue of Baghdad Zoo animals during the U.S. invasion in 2003.
On March 7, 2012, Lawrence Anthony died.
He is remembered and missed by his wife, 2 sons, 2 grandsons -- and numerous elephants.
Two days after his passing, the wild elephants showed up at his home, led by two matriarchs.
Separate wild herds arrived in droves to say goodbye to their beloved man-friend.
A total of 31 elephants had patiently walked over 12 miles to get to Anthony's South African home.

Witnessing this spectacle, humans were obviously in awe, not only because of the supreme intelligence and precise timing that these elephants had somehow sensed, about Lawrence's passing, but also because of the profound memory and emotion the beloved animals evoked in such an organized way:
-- Walking slowly for days
-- Making their way in a solemn one-by-one queue from their habitat to his home
Lawrence's wife, Francoise, was especially touched, knowing that the elephants had not been to his house prior to that day for more than 3 years!
Yet, they knew where they were going. The elephants obviously wanted to pay their deep respects, honoring the friend who had saved their lives -- so much respect that they stayed for 2 days and 2 nights without eating anything.
Then one morning, they left, making their long journey back home . . . .
IN OUR UNIVERSE, A SOURCE OF INTELLIGENCE EXISTS WHICH IS BEYOND THAT OF ANY HUMAN.

Having a Bad Day? Check out this Dental Trip to Hell!

We had a trip to the dentist yesterday better called a trip to hell! Haven't figured out when I am going to present this list to the dentist who is good and works with my allergies. But the tooth cleaner/ checker really hacked up our mouths. Have to figure out whether to stay and send/present this to him and maybe cost her job or just go to another dentist. He said I have decay under a cap and a front tooth filling.
So I need to do something and I sooo miss the perfect hygenist who is no longer there .!!!!! What would you do????

1. The xray machine hit/bumped my face several times before the xrays were taken.
2. There were no words telling me when to start and stop holding my breath  for the xray. Several times it was longer than I could hold my breath because she had something she went and did for some seconds and then came back.
3. There was absolutely NO sequence in moving around my teeth. This part was like a dental nightmare or comedy. There was No moving across a row sequence…no inside or outside sequence. No up or down first. She would just go in and hit an inside part on the top and then go somewhere else and hit a spot …She cleaned from the back towards the middle of each row in no sequence either. I cannot be sure she even got them all.
4. She scraped some of my teeth AFTER she brushed the teeth. And that was that.
5. She had the patient hold the suction appliance.
6. I have never had such a bloody napkin sit on my good top in all my life. Gross!
7. She was not fully aware of all my allergies that was given to the office  years ago.
8. She was "preaching to the choir" on flossing…not mentioning an understanding that should be in seeing in my med records that Calan causes the swelling as well as lack of flossing.
9. The flossing was in the top two roughest experiences I have ever had and she was jamming/pulling the floss into the small spaces that are between my close teeth. Other hygenists had taught me NOT to pull/push that rough but to slide it out in places that get stuck carefully.
10. She was very professional in her appearance, her answers and her effort and her wanting to do a good job. But she definitelyt needs retraining.
11. My teeth did not even feel clean on the way to our next stop like they used to when the past perfect hygenist did them  or with our past experiences in Maryland and Virginia.
My husband had the same experience and   felt:
1. She was a little on the rough on the picking of the teeth.
2. She put the mint stuff on first!

SO WHAT IS THIS DOING IN A DOWNSIZER BLOG YOU ASK???...WELL IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS TO DOWNSIZING:
1. DON'T DOWNSIZE THE QUALITY OF MAINTENANCE  OF YOUR TEETH IN YOUR MOUTH UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY IN ORDER  TO MAINTAIN GOOD HEALTH...
2. DON'T DOWNSIZE YOUR EXPECTATIONS OF THOSE YOU PAY FOR SERVICES THEY PERFORM FOR YOU AND YOUR HEALTH. ASK QUESTIONS, MAKE SURE YOU GOT WHAT YOU PAID FOR AND SHOW APPRECIATION FOR JOBS WELL DONE!
